Western Shores: Creating Scenery

(Originally posted at kaycei.blogspot.com on 4/20/07.)

I did some scenery work tonight. I thought it would be nice to take a break from the coding and do something artsy. Boy, was I wrong. The NWN2 Toolset was being very bugging with the terrain textures. Fortunately I caught a patch that seems to have fixed it. There isn't an undo option, so there is a lot of painting and repainting. But I'm pretty happy with what I have. This is a screenshot of the Grey Bogs. I plan to add more fog effects, especially over the water (the dark puddle in the picture) but I haven't fixed that effect yet.

I think you deserve some comments, so you at least know that your blog is read, but i don't follow any of those games, and you know how much i LOVE RPing, so that explains my lack of comments. I think it's pretty cool what you're doing with all this stuff, are you actually making everything from scratch (like straight from code/writing the programs and stuff yourself)? cuz if so, that is really cool. love ya.

Les,
Neverwinter Nights 2 has a toolset that lets you make your own levels. There is some script writing involved, which deals with code, but I'm not writing the programs. Most of the models being used come from the toolset, although I did modify a model and a texture (outfit) that went with it. I'm thinking about making some buildings too.
